Today I got the kind of service I used to expect from Dell. Too bad it took 17 days to get it! The Banctec serviceman called at 2:30 to say he was on his way. He was there at 3:00, and in no time installed my new wireless card. It's fixed. I finally have what I wanted from the start: to double my original memory. That's how this whole thing got started: I installed a bigger memory card, but my computer remained slow as ever. I called Dell to diagnose the problem. Seventeen or so long phone calls later, and two service calls, it's fixed. It's actually like having a new computer-- the crashed operating system wiped out all the 'stuff', and the bigger memory card makes it all go fast. Was it worth all the stress? No way!

I came home and watched last night's episode of LOST and now I'm all caught up. I still need to watch Brothers and Sisters and Jericho. I love those shows. Now that my time is my own again, I can do that.

I have two new clients on the books tomorrow. New clients are always stressful for me (why does it have to be two at once?), but I know it will be fine. It always is and I wish I didn't have this anxiety. At the end of the day I'll be sitting in Borders, sipping my favorite drink. Relaxing.

My friend Kit is back in town, and we'll be meeting up at the lodge on Sunday. It's been weeks since we've done that. We have a lot to catch up on so we'll have to take turns.

Anyway, that's it for the night. Thanks for letting me vent about my technical issues. Your support really helped. Happy weekend!

Yay! Does it feel good to be back in the land of the fast connected? I am tempted to start watching LOST! I just checked at ABC's website and they have the all online to view in HD. It is frustrating to me that I can't watch TV anymore. I just can concentrate on it.

Well at least the thing is fixed. I'm pretty sure I'll never buy a Dell now.

I'm glad your ordeal with Dell has finally resulted in a fix for the computer. They have certainly not been user friendly.

Have a relaxed weekend. The two new clients will love you.

I am glad your computer is up and running again. My family all has MAC laptops now. And if we have technical issues off to the MAC store we go and talk to someone at the Genius bar. You can even make an appt on line so it's more convenient for you. Not bad.

I hope you have a fun filled weekend.

Thank God and Finally! Sheesh. It's about time you were done with that mess. They should reimburse your phone bill... even if it was toll free.

Enjoy your weekend and your new clients!

Finally - computer sucess!

I have never worked with anything that causes such stress and irritation as a computer. They are the most awesome inventions when they work, and they make me nearly suicidal when they don't.

I can understand why you get stressed out with new clients, but I'll bet you it's all for nothing. I feel certain that you are awesome at your job, and that EVERYONE loves you.

Have a good time today. :)

I'm so happy you can go back to not thinking about your computer. That is such a pain!! Computers should be like cars and running water...always there when you need them! hahaha

I hooked up my own wireless connection recently and had plenty of glitches. I'm all set now and I did it all by myself!! I'm so glad I didn't have to wait like you did!! ACK!!

Welcome back to the world of the perpetually connected!

I don't watch any shows except The Wire and the last episode is on this week. I think it would be nice to have shows to watch. Jess & I used to watch ER and call each other during the commercials. It was fun.

I hope you have enjoyed having your time back to yourself!
