14 February 2008

For a window of time, I was the one others were envious of on Valentine's Day. My ex sent the most extravagant flowers. Everyone at the front desk knew just who they were for. The things he wrote in the cards could have been written by Hallmark. For the first few years, we had wonderful candle lit dinners at fancy restaruants. I loved it all. Then, he went away. Emotionally. The flowers kept coming, but the heart of it was gone. The dinners were only wonderful if they included wine. I'm much happier these days giving a VD gift to my daughter and seeing her face light up. She was so surprised that I had gifts for her. She thought she was too old. You're never too old to your mother. I'll be bringing pink cupcakes to my co-workers and hope that brightens their day. I'm happy when the people around me are happy.

Happy Valentine's Day to you!

Happy Valentines day to you! YOu deserve all the cupids arrows in the world for as much giving as you do! You're thoughtful, considerate, and so incredibly kind!
You sound like me,...you get happy by making others happy! It's a wonderful trait to have, even when our own hearts are left to feel the pain.
I bet without a doubt that someday when Em has children, she'll be doing the same thing, I plan on bringing helium balloons to my boys even when they're in HS with a chocolate big lollipop..because you're never too old to be given love..!
Happy Day today!
Thank you, btw, thank you!
Love,
Elizabeth

That is sweet of you Cheryl. I agreed with your comment on Jamie's blog about it being more about women. My hubby got chocolates for me and the kids and told me not to bother getting him a gift cuz there is no point. Cool, huh?

Hope your co-workers enjoy the cupcakes.

You know if I had one of those nifty blog awards to give, I'd give you the Thoughtful Blogger Award. So there it is.

Happy Valentines to you!

When my boys were home I always gave them little gifts on Valentine's day as well. It is true that it is more fun to give than receive!

Happy Valentine's Day to you! And I have no doubt that people are still very envious of you on VD, just for different reasons!

What a very thoughtful and kind lady you are. Can we clone you?

As you know I also love LOST. Last night we had a mini emergency with one of our dogs so had to tape it. We are only on the 2nd episode so can't wait to see that tonight.

I got my hair coloured and highlighted yesterday too so we must have been on the same wavelength all day...lol.

Happy Valentines Day. One of these days someone will come along and sweep you off your feet once again. I just hope they deserve you.

What a beautifully written post.

There are so many things I could say here, but I cannot make the words come out right. Suffice it to say, I hear you.

You are such a great mom.

Have a good, good Friday.
