10 April 2008

I've been a little off my game for a touch. It probably shows. This morning I decided to get out early and hang at my favorite Panera's. It just feels good to be in a public place, even though I'm alone. I never mind being alone, but here I feel kind of connected. Thank you Panera's for your free wi-fi. I'm sitting before a big window and although it's another cloudy day, I can still see the trees-flowering, budding and bare. I had my favorite bagel with hazelnut cream cheese. Did you know they'll do a 'bread slice' for you if you ask? Length-wise slices instead of in half. Much better that way.

I'm going to do some browsing when I leave here. Go to Kohl's. Target. I'm not looking for anything in particular, but I have two hours to go till I leave for the doctor's.

Talking about that, this is an appointment with a brand new primary care doctor. My last one, whom I adored, went 'boutique' at the end of the year. She sent out letters explaining her choice and said she would accept 400 patients into her new practice. The yearly fee would be $1800.00, and she wouldn't be accepting insurance. I just couldn't do that. The doctor I'll be seeing today came highly recommended.

I'll let you know if anything exciting happens today. You never know.

You seem like the same sweet Cheryl to me, but everybody has off days or off weeks when they just don't feel up to par. All of March felt like that for me. :)

I hope you like the new dr and you enjoy your shopping.

lovins to you -

I haven't had to change primary care doctors since 1981!! I wouldn't know where to begin if my doctor wasn't available.

Wish I was in the mood to go shopping tody. I need to replenish my wardrobe; something I hate doing but enjoy once it's done.

Good luck with your day.

I've had two primary care doctors retire on me....that's what happens when you're older than dirt! LOL
Its always a bit unnerving to see a new doctor ... here's hoping you like him or her. So far, I've liked my new ones.
Hope the visit goes well and every is A-ok.
Being an only child, I've never minded being alone either...I rather enjoy it. I'm in good company and can do what I want, WHEN I want. Altho I am a social animal and love to visit with my friends....no denying that. Be well.

I hope you find a great bargain, just to brighten your day!

I've never heard of a doc doing that before. But it doesn't surprise me either.

I hope the new doc is a great one for you! Hugs!

I hope that doc gets taken down a peg or two - she's not God!

My health insurance at work changes almost every year and I end up having to find a new doctor every year. It stinks. The doctor I have now is pretty good, so I can't complain. Although, I just have to say, I've never heard of a doctor going "boutique." That's weird. And mean to the faithful patients.

I hope you're feeling okay at the end of this day. My sister in law pays for boutique health care because she LOVES her doc. Hers is $1500. It's coming this way I fear. That's just for the primary, forget about anything else. At our age, with our risk, you have to think hard about whether it's worth it.

doesn't that make you angry when the docs get "too big for their britches?" We had a doc do that here, and I refuse to shell out more money for more 'exclusive' service?

Pass on that.

I have never heard of a doctor going "boutique" but what a disappointment it would be! Still, there are some doctors left who actually went into medicine to help people.
