Let's see if I can creatively complain here. Is there such a thing? Warning, I'll have to make frequent stops to use the bathroom. What? Oh right, you wouldn't know that because you're not here. At the coffee shop. The fact that I'm here makes it better. I had an early morning appointment for a pelvic sonogram. In case you don't know, you have to drink lots and lots of water an hour beforehand so your abdomen gets nice and bloated. In my case, 32 oz. Not at all comfortable. You pray that they're running on time so you don't have to wait a minute longer than necessary. I made an 8:00 AM appointment; the first of the day. I drove the half-hour. I was second in line. So far so good. Till the desk staff tells me that the ordering doctor, who happens to be the owner of the busy practice I go to, failed to sign the referral. And his office wasn't open. And the imaging center couldn't squeeze me in even though the office opens at 8:30. So there you have it. My doctor made a mistake. Mistakes happen. The imaging center couldn't squeeze me in. I understand that. And there you have it. I'll be back in a moment after I use the bathroom. It takes a couple of visits for all that water to make it's way through.

So, you all know I stay busy. And I have no plans for the day. Oh, I'll go into Walmart next door to return some folders I bought for Emily that she didn't like. Next time when she says 'plain' I'll buy plain. But that's it. No movie I want to see. No shopping. No urge to clean. Nothing but the right here and now, sitting at Panera's, drinking coffee and using their bathroom.

Dang, I hate it when plans get foiled.

I hope you find something else to do with your day.

Enjoy your day with nothing to do. Those are the best! I do hate to have my plans ruined by other people though. So she meant PLAIN folders, sounds like my Meg.

Oooh, I hate it when that happens. I used to have to drive 100 miles to see a specialist and had lab work scheduled first thing when I arrived. They always wanted a urine sample. I didn't make any potty stops on the trip so I'd be ready, then there would be a line at the lab, and I'd sit there with my toes crossed and fearing wet shoes. Sometimes I had to plead for mercy and permission to jump the line. Sorry that you had to go thru the "bloat" for nothing, you'd think they could find an easier way!

Poor Cheryl! Those tests are miserable. And I remember worrying that if they spent one more second poking around, they were going to be sorry!

About your book error, I had that happen recently too. Remember the review I did on the Pillars of the Earth, the 900page book? They did that too. It was like 20 pages repeated itself. Too funny. I hope it's good anyway!

I'm sorry you had to drink so much water.

Now the real kicker is. You don't have to drink water or anything for an internal sonogram. Don't you just love it. After my 4th one. Some wise and nice x-ray tech told me that little secret.

I hope you enjoy your day. Mine was spent at the gym, going for a long ride, stopping by my boys house, and keeping an eye on my puppy. She's not feeling well. She tends to eat lots of stuff outside. I do believe yesterday she out did herself. If she's not better tomorrow I'll take her to the vets. But it doesn't usually last that long.

Poor you...but yes, dr's are human and mistakes get made. And I think your attitude is wonderful about it, many of us would not be as gracious about it.
