Andrew wrote that he was looking forward to reading about my day. I better get busy and write.

I spoke to my mom this morning. She said she wanted me to take her to Giant so she could buy a cantaloupe that's on sale for 99 cents. I said, 'you want me to drive an hour round trip so you can buy a 99 cent cantaloupe???' See...I'm not always nice. She said no, she'd also like to go to WalMart. Oh, OK. I got there and spent some time straightening out her closet, moving the summer clothes to the back, etc... We left, and as I was driving, we both decided we were hungry. My mom asked if I wanted to go shopping first. I said, how do I get when I'm hungry? She said, in a bad mood. Right. So we went to a wonderful Chinese buffet that we love. Right, buffet. At 11:00. We were the first ones there and the food was wonderful. The diet will start back up tomorrow. We went to Walmart, and the grocery store for the cantaloupe. I hope I picked a good one. I brought my mom back home, then headed to my own house.

I finished up the laundry, and decided to read the past 3 days worth of newspapers while laying on the hammock. It was so nice outside! Probably about 70 degrees, and a little windy. The melody from my wind chimes were a delight to hear.

Why squirrels like my yard

It was a good day. I wish this wonderful weather could last. I wish the leaves would hang on for a while more. I'm not ready for the bare branches of winter. Still, every day that we're here is a good day.

anyhow... i get grouchy when i am hungry to. people kinda just get outta my way---or feed me. :))

have a good night!

I love your pictures!! The leaves are so beautiful. We get a lot of squirrels here too. A hammock would be lovely right now.

I'm glad you are there for your mom, even if its a pain sometimes. My mom and I haven't been in contact in almost 4 years.

Take care!

at least your bare branches are because of cold. Our branches are bare and everything is dead because we have no rain and no water. no one is allowed to water anything at all any day of the week or they get huge fines.

I'm in the same boat with sarah and believe me our boats ain't-a-floatin'! I'll be so glad when I get our yard back in shape so I can enjoy being outside. A hammock is a good idea.

I love your pictures and you do have some that are colorful. In the sixth pic from the top is that a stone circle? Significance? Just wondering.

You're not practicing some sort of ritual in the stone circle are you? Ha!

Yesterday was beautiful wasn't it?

I guess nobody can always be nice, but you seem to come pretty darn close:) Sounds like a great day with your mom! And I loved seeing the view from your hammock.

Liked all of the pictures! Sounds like you had a nice day out with your mom. I don't think I could have eaten Chinese food so early! :-) I get up early and walk but don't eat breakfast till 9:30!

You have everyright to express that to your mom...that really didn't make sense...I have to learn to be more assertive like that when it comes to my family.

That first picture with you in it I swore it was Em./.WOW!!!

What beautiful pictures too! You have an amazing eye!

Hitting a buffet, especially the Chinese or Pizza buffets, right when a place opens is the best way to go. You get the stuff fresh and usually get a better selection.

Great pictures. We're having the same kind of fall here. Some trees are turning, but mostly the leaves are just falling cause it stayed so hot for so long and we have had very little rain.

I second what Jay said about the buffet, I'd rather go early and have it be fresh. Man... I wish we had a good chinese food buffet around here, now I'm in the mood!

I love the photos from your hammock, specially the one of you. At first I couldn't decide if that was you or Em, you have such a sassy look on your face.

Your pictures are great. I love the pine needle one and the ones with red and green leaves. I'm envious of your ability to disengage and relax as well as making every day count. Could you give me a lesson?

I think there is a difference between being nice and being a doormat. :)

I'm glad you had such a good day with your mom. I'm really missing mine right now and am dreading the holidays without her. (Is is bad that I don't want to share her with my brother?)

Beautiful pics. I really like the one looking at the leaves through the hammock.

Hi Cheryl!!! Rain is good..
Confession: Even in winter I wear sandals..I like the open air of it all, my toes hurt like heck at times, but sandles and slippers are my favorite things next to coffee if we're talking material goods. :)
MCDREAMY TONIGHT! Are you ready?
