Good morning! Yes, I'm a morning person. Lately, though, my internal clock has been getting me up a little later than usual. Emily comes into my room at about 6:20 to put on make-up, then yells good-bye as she leaves the house. I never fall back asleep, but have been staying in bed for awhile. This morning I got up and offered to make breakfast. She said she didn't need any help. Hmmm... My goal is really to be up. We hardly spend any time together anymore, and I miss that, even though I know it's normal and natural. BTW, Emily turns 14 on Friday and she is so excited. I guess 13 made her a teenager, but 14 has more credence?

So, the bird. Yes, I'm still calling it that. The ads will go out tomorrow in the Pennysaver and the local paper. I'm really hoping to find the owner, but don't feel optimistic about it. I'm not sure what I'll do. Yes, I'm becoming attached to the bird, but it's not what I really wanted. We'll see. I do have a name in mind if I do wind up keeping it. We'll see.

Time to head to work. Hope ya'll have a good day.

You don't want the bird yet you have a name picked out?? LOL

I'm like Jay. I want summer hours all year long so I don't have to get up at the break of dawn.

I am a morning person too. That's why I walk early in the day. Everything seems so new and fresh.

it is good of you to look for the bird's owner. i mean, how far could a little guy(gal?) like that get on his own? he'll have a happy home with you guys if that's how it works out.
so, any plans for the big day? (Friday:)

I think that's a good goal to be in the kitchen to send Emily off on her day. Four more years and you won't be able to do that!

I must have missed something...(more likely I forgot). I thought the bird belonged to you. He does seem to like you. BTW, so many nice people are leaving me notes. Thank you.

Mornings are the best. Everything is new, fresh, and alive. Coffee on the screen porch (or sun room) with a fresh cup of coffee makes the whole world seem good.

After all these years I still miss making breakfast for the kids.

I'm am now a morning person. Sometimes morning is the end of my day and sometimes it's the beginning, but I always seem to be up at 5:00 am one way or the other

So, I know I am behind the times, but apparently you found the bird? I guess I never knew anyone who found one, although way back (god, I feel old) in 1979, when I was 19, my husband and I lost a great green winged macaw in phoenix. His name was Amos. He is still probably flying around out there. He was about fifteen inches tall with a wing span of about three feet. How about Amos for a name? Back then, in the ancient times, we had paid twelve hundred dollars for him, now I have no idea what he would cost....I hated that bird and the feeling was mutual....but I am blogging in your comment box...damn, I am sorry. :)

Hi Cheryl,
Your salon looks lovely. I am a total morning person. I am up before anyone else.I have my routine down pat. Flip on the coffee, take the dogs for a walk, feed the dogs, get my coffee and curl up in bed with my first cup, watching the Today show while picking up my email. Now those are the days I'm not up on the beach taking sunrise shots with my camera.
Right now my house is invaded with the 20 somethings in my life and their pets. To say my house is FULL of life right now is an understatement.

Have an awesome day.

With my teens, I found it works much better to not interact with them in the morning. They are much happier getting themselves up and preparing for their day without mom's interference. In fact, I don't even get out of bed.

I admire the ability to feel cheerful at 6.20 am. I am awake at that hour, but I'm still a couple of hours away from dancing on tables. :)

My neighbor, Orna, died last Spring and left us her parrot. It's name is Bert (for the longest time, I thought his name was "bird" and finally told her that I thought it was time to name the thing and she informed me that he DID have a name: BERT) and he has a terrible foul mouth.

He's yours if you want him.....since you seem to um...really like birds and all.

And thank you for stopping by. It is very nice to meet you.
