31 October 2007

I like to write every day. Sometimes there's just no time, especially on the two days I work late. Today I'm home by 5:30. The trick-or-treaters usually start coming by at around 6:00. This year I bought mini bags of microwave popcorn to give out. It seemed like a good idea at the time. When I told a co-worker she said, What?? No candy?? Then I thought about what I'd like to get if I were out there and thought, definitely not popcorn. Oh well, there's always next year. In the meantime I bought 2 cases of the stuff, and I want to give it all away. We get a good amount of trick-or-treaters. People drive their kids over from other neighborhoods and wait in their cars till the kids finish the street, then drive them over to another. I used to get annoyed, but then realized, hey, they're just kids. That's what it's about.

I'm heading out early. We have a class on selling retail this morning. It really is unusual to have so many classes. It's just been that way lately. Next week we have a Redken class, then that's it for a while.

Have a good Wednesday! Happy Halloween!

I like the popcorn idea too and I'll bet the kids will like it. Maybe not at first glance when they are doing their sorting, but it will get eaten, I'd bet anything. It's fun to make popcorn in the microwave. I wish I'd thought of it. I personally would rather have that around as a leftover than a bag of snickers.

I think popcorn is a cool idea, something for them to snack on tomorrow when they are weary of all the sweets. I remember one year I got snack-size boxes of raisins to pass out, trying to think healthy, my kids were not amused. I didn't make that mistake again. :-) Happy Halloween to you, hope you have many little goblins at your door!

I love the idea of popcorn and am going to the store to buy some for trick or treat. Yes, I'm late getting treats this year and now I'm glad it worked out that way. Thanks for sharing your idea. I wanted to have something a little different and, thanks to you, now I will.

I think popcorn is a great idea! The kids will pop it when they get home and eat it while they sort out all their candy.

As a parent I would love for my son to get popcorn instead of more candy! Great idea.

Have lots of fun and enjoy the children!

I've been eating candy all night. blech! (Yummy tho). Wish I had that SALTY popcorn right about now. I'd like to send you an invitation to my show. Maybe I can even post it. Well, I can send it to your work if it doesn't post well.

Love the hand blowdryer/diffuser below! I took a cosmotology class when I was in high school through a special program. We had this elctrostatitc rake thing that was popular at the time. It was supposed to stimulate the hair folicles to make the hair grow faster and "remove impurities". It was a "hair raising experience" if the setting was too high. :>

I too have to say I like the idea of the popcorn!
Take Care,
P

You definitely get points for originality. And getting a bag of popcorn is great haul. Please email me your address so Max and I can trick-or-treat at your house next year. It's only about 650 mile trek from here. ;)
