I'd have to say it was not a very good day. I never even read. I did copy to disc all the photos on my computer to put in my new safe. I started organizing all the photo folders by month. I connected the printer to Emily's computer. I ate stupid stuff. Just a blah day. We went to my brother's house. I brought chips and dips. They bought dinner from KFC. My mother loves fried chicken. I got my mom what she really wanted--Hanes fleece sweatshirts and sweatpants from WalMart. That was easy. I was fascinated to see my brother's new LCD TV. It's huge. He put on a blue ray disc movie so we could see how spectacular it was. And it was. I've never seen a picture like that. It almost made me want to go out and buy one. I won't...I don't watch enough TV to need one. Like I don't do enough baking to have a Kitchen Aid mixer. Or listen to enough music to have an iPod video. Or talk enough on the phone to have an iPhone. Oh, let's see...what else do I want? The living room set. Hmmm, I think that's all. Oh, a SLR digital camera. That really is all. Luckily, I'm way too practical, so I don't buy those things that I don't need. Hmmm, I think I had fun writing that. I can go to bed now. Tomorrow I'm booked for 8 hours straight with 30 minutes off for lunch. It will be a completely different day than today. I'm glad.

All the top line/electronic stuff is nice but I don't have a use for it either. Except for the mixer. I've had mine for years, used it lots of lots, and it still works like new. As for some of the electronic stuff, Harry and I would need the kids to help us buy the right thing and then teach us to use it. We're still amazed with cell phones that take pictures. :-)

Practical is a good thing! My husband and I don't even have cell phones for ourselves. Now, a KitchenAid mixer would be on my wish list, because I love to bake...

I applaud your attitude. Too many of us are driven by the desire to own things and gadgets that we really don't need. You have found contentment. I am trying to be more like that too.

I don't have a cell phone. I was given an iPod Nano for Christmas last year though. I would love to have a digital SLR and I have TV envy. I REALLY would love to have a big LCD HDTV. But, oh well. I get along okay without it.

I'm not one for all the newest electronic stuff either. I don't even own a television! I do have a cell phone, mixer and a camera though. And I love my imac.
Hope your Friday is Happy and Fun.

You are hysterical. I laughed so hard reading this. I am a complete consumer addict. The neat thing is that my awesome kitchen equipment invites me to cook more. I have a nano, the t.v.,satellite radios, we have STUFF. But I have to be forced into buying good tools for my glass. But do blonds really have more fun??

Cheryl,
I love reading your blog!
It's just so straight forward and refreshing!

Oh, and I'll keep in mind that you are looking for an SLR digital camera....I'll be upgrading soon. :)
Hugs!

Seems we are all getting the blues from change in season. I can't seem to get it all done in a day. Way too much to do and the time is flying.

I've gotten past the impulse buying too, Cheryl. My daughter has one of these tv's and they are indeed awesome, but I figure that my old one works just fine. We are such a consumer driven society, but I've learned in recent years that there is really very little that I NEED. I am blessed to afford the basics, and that is enough. Except for my computer... don't even try to take that away! LOL :-) Hoping that your Friday passes quickly and is not too tiring, that's a long time on the feet!

Sometimes too much time on our hands can be a bad thing. Bad for our minds and bodies.
Hope your Friday goes well!! Take care.
