There's nothing like a good night's sleep. I can give part of the credit to Jane Austin. Reading Pride and Prejudice was better than taking a sleeping pill. I switched over to Cliffs Notes, but that didn't help and it was lights out at 9:15. It was so nice to snuggle into bed in my chilly room. And sleep...

I'm spending some extra time with 'the bird' this morning. At 5:00 he's going home with his new owners, a couple who lost their bird this past summer. After concluding that this one wasn't theirs, I asked if they might want him if I couldn't find the owner, and they agreed. From the start I thought this bird had bonded with a male. You should have seen him with the man who found him. I think I've been an OK human, but not what this guy's been used to. I still think I want a bird, but I want a baby one that can bond with us from the start. I'm glad I was able to foster this bird for a while.

Time to work. It's a good thing I'm a morning person.

Good morning! I am happy you found someone to take the bird, but I know you will miss it. A baby bird sounds sweet.

Sleeping is much better in the fall and winter. It's just hard to get comfortable in the hot weather. It's finally turned cool here and I've already started sleeping better through the night.

Glad you found somebody for the bird. I go back and forth on whether or not I want a bird. They're cool, but they not cool like a dog is. LOL

I love to sleep in a cool room under a warm comforter, too Cheryl. Being lulled to sleep by a book (and lord that's a long one!)is such a nice way to mellow out.

Glad to read that the birdy has a wonderful new home with a daddy, since that's what he's used to. I bet you'll be more inclined to buy a new bird now, after his reminder of how sweet they can be.

Have a good weekend, work and all!

I don't think I would want a bird for a pet. I'd rather see them outside flying around where they belong. (Sorry bird people)

Glad to hear you got a good nights sleep.

I love all Jane Austin books. :-)

I have heard that birds make great pets. They are intelligent and affectionate. I would get a bird in a minute if I didn't have cats who lick their chops whenever they see a bird outside the window.

I rented a really sweet documentary about a homeless man who adopts some wild parrots. I would highly recommend the movie. It's called The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. here's a link:

I love P&P, hope you are enjoying it. Amen to the chilly room - we're sleeping with the window open and tons of covers and I LOVE IT. What Jay said about sleeping when it's hot.

I'm so glad you found the bird a good home - you are more than an OK human - you're a terrifc one for taking the time to do that yourself. Most people wouldn't have gotten involved.

Have a wonderful day,
fiwa

Awww...the bird is leaving? I'm glad you found him a good home. He sounds like quite a character.

I wish I was a morning person like you. I wake up, but I just can't seem to get it together.

How was your day?

Glad the bird has a home with someone who really wants him. Now you can get a baby bird and make him your very own.

We are getting cooler temps now. Just in time - I was ready to sizzle.

So sweet of you to take all the time with the bird that you have, most people wouldn't or couldn't have been bothered. I think you deserve an award! Getting a bird would be a good thing for you-do you know what kind you want?

Have a good weekend!

You're right. There's something to be said about a pet that gets used to you from the beginning. Looks like everything worked out for the best!
