21 January 2008

I thought I'd do a mid-day post. Not much going on around here but laundry and cleaning. I took Em's dress to a local dry cleaner today. They confirmed my fears about her dress. The pleats can't be pressed in once they've been pressed out. They do think they can fix the band on the bodice. That's what Emily wants done. So, I'll head back there in a while. They have a special if you bring in 5 items, and I've been wanting my kitchen chair pads cleaned. Also, the cleaner is in the same shopping center as the grocery store and I need to figure out dinner.

Fiwa asked about The Bucket List. It was good, but in retrospect, I wish I had waited to see it on DVD. I did write an e-mail to the corporate office of Muvico last night. I'd hate for what happened to us to happen to someone else. I'll let you know what happens.

While cleaning my room today, I had to clear the magazines off my bed to change the sheets. I started going through them, and making piles to throw away. I cleared out the stacks in my nightstands and closet. Why, oh why, have I kept two years of Real Simple? The recycle bin is now full, and I'll be giving away the new issues as soon as I'm done. It felt good to clean that up.

Well, time to look at cookbooks!

So I should wait till the Bucket List comes to the .99 theater? We just saw August Rush there. .99 well spent.

I do the same with magazines, they pile up because I think I will go back for that recipe or article, but totally forget about them!

Too bad about the dress, hope you get some compensation!

I actually giggled a little bit at the idea of having two years of "Real Simple" magazine piled up. I bet one of the tips in that magazine is not to let magazines pile up. hahahahaha ;-)

That's good to know about TBL.
I even though I never go, am glad I know that now!
Don't you feel better once a mini reorganize or re/de/clutter is done?
Hope you're having a good Monday Evening!

Hi Cheryl!

You know I have yet to see TBL, even after two valiant attempts. I think I will probably wait and see it when it comes out on DVD, LOL.

If it makes you feel any better, our theatre's here have the same thing going on. Just started it a few months back. I don't go to many movies at all, so I really hadn't thought much about it, but I see your point, and it's very valid.

Hope your Monday was spectacular!

Hugs....

Oh darn, I had high hopes for the Bucket List. Oh well - thanks for the review, I guess I'll wait and netflix it.

lol... Jay's comment about the magazines cracked me up. I do that too though - I just feel so guilty throwing them away, specially since I never get around to READING most of them.

I horde magazines. I tell my husband it's because I might want to use a recipe or decorating tip "later." He kind of snorts and tells me to tear the page out and toss the magazine. But what fun is that? And I just read about what happened in the movie theater and with your daughter's dress. How crazy!

Doesn't it feel good when you get mags/papers in the recycle? I love the feeling. The girls take most of my mags after I read them. That makes me want to keep subscribing. Two years of Real Simple is a lot of volume - I bet the recycle bin is loaded.

My heart is aching for Soul,...what an awful day...
It's 9:27pm here, lots of snow is falling outside, and my eyes are watering with sleepy dreams.
Dream well!
Goodnight!!:)

There are some magazines that I collect...American Craft, Fine Woodworking. My only regret was throwing away ten years of Cuisine Magazine all in one dump. It's been out of print for eons now, pre healthy cooking era. I could be rich now if I'd kept it, don't you think?

I used to save every magazine I got, but now I have learned that cleared out feels better than clutter!

I am waiting to see TBL until it comes out in video.

Sorry to hear about the results of the dress. My daughter had something go wrong with a dress at the cleaners as well. She doesn;t trust them anymore. Hope your day is going well. :-)

You sound like me. I have Good Housekeeping piles around the house. Ugh. I need to recycle.

Have a good day!
