This tree-lined dirt road in Edisto is my new screensaver. I just love it. Did I mention I let Emily drive one afternoon? It was the thrill of her life. In fact, let me find a picture. She was shocked when I said yes to her 'please, please, please?'

The island was filled with these very long dirt roads, deserted for the most part, so why not? It was so much fun for her, and a preview of how hard it will be for me in less than 2 years. In MD, you can get your learner's permit when you're 15 and 9 months. Way too early if you ask me. Don't ask her, though.

I should be getting ready for work. We're having a color class this morning from 9:30-12:00. I think it's great that we close the salon when we have classes, rather than hold them on our day off like we used to. I have such a good boss.

Have a great day!

That is a lovely picture. I can feel my blood pressure dropping down even as I look at it.

You're a great mom to let Emily drive. How was your blood pressure?

how exciting! in VA it used to be that you could get your learners at 15, but that may have changed now. no matter when it is, it's never soon enough for those finally getting to drive!

Reminds me of when My son first drove... His mother allowed him to drive in an empty parking lot ... Came pretty close to those light poles I might add...too close!

That must have been a blast for Emily. I didn't get my licence until I was almost 18.

okay, that is terrifying to think-the age of 15 is so young? But girls are much more mature than boys..so, I'm sure she'll do just fine.
You're a great mom to let her drive a bit..shows how compassionate you are in giving her space to breath and grow even though you're still being the "keep you safe" mom.
Be happy for yourself, you've done a great job raising a wonderful girl!!! :)
Always,
Crusty~
