Emily got home safe and sound last night. She had a great time and was totally worn out!
This morning I took the same walking route as I did on Tuesday. I'm amazed that I walked so long. It's good to have a sense of accomplishment from pushing yourself to do something out of your comfort zone. I even did it without music. I thought I'd give it a try, and went about a third of my route before turning on my MP3 player. That's when I found out I was out of battery. It was fine walking without it, but I think I like it with, better. Well, I'm going to get an early start and head to the sporting goods store before work. I really do want to get a pedometer.

If I was walking like that I would love to know exactly how far I had gone too. You've got me thinking about the routine I've all but given up on...I may give it another go. I was always glad afterwards:)
Glad to hear your daughter had a good time & made it home safe & sound!
I happened by your blog and see you walk for exercise. I walk every day and have devoted a blog to my morning walk. I have a pedometer and wouldn't be without one. If you do get one I recommend one called Freestyle 598 digital pedometer. I bought mine online.
Happy walking.
It can be so hard letting go of our babies. Sigh... I'm glad she came home safe and sound.
I always walk with my buddy, but I keep thinking I need to just start going alone so that I go *every* day.
I can't seem to get in a good workout without some kind of music. And I bought a pedometer a few weeks ago. At first, I was kind of bummed that I wasn't taking as many steps as I thought I was, but it definitely inspired me to get moving more often!
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I have some other pain meds, but they nauseate me and I took them anyway. I'm finally feeling some relief. I forgot to ask you where you are staying in MB. We have always stayed right in the middle of the *mess* because it was always easy to walk places with the kids when they were little. I guess we never outgrew it! No matter where you stay, it's always a great place to be. Warm water, white sand and great people. I hope you have a wonderful time!
Welcome back Emily!
I love that bit about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. So true!
I started out walking 2 -1/2 miles. Over the years I've gone farther and farther. I love my morning walk and look forward to it. It no longer is a chore but a joy.
Do you work near Lake Elkhorn or the big building on 32?
Good job on the walking. I need to start working out and get into shape! I'm so lazy right now.
that's great that you're maintaining that. Sometimes though with those electronical trackers as I refer to them, you end up disappointed.
Such like the vomiting pregnant mommy in hopes that she's 2.5months along, only to find out that based on the ultrasound she's 7weeks.
EEKS. :)
Always,
Crusty~
I think I've had too much coffee this am, even my comments aren't making any sense. :)
I walk not for exercise, but out of necessity. I have all my life, but with my weak lungs, 2-4 miles is my limit, and I usually need a break by 2.5 miles. But I really SHOULD be at least bike riding, I'm not TRYING to be this skinny! If you have a PDA or cellphone that can play mp3's, that'll work just the same as one of those fancy ipod's. I'm not so sure I'd focus on steps so much as I'd focus on distance. Just a thought...
