OK. Sonogram done. I had no idea that almost all parts of your body can be sonogramed. The throat was weird. I had to have my chin pointed to the ceiling while the radiologist mapped my throat with her wand. I got very nervous and was wishing for a Valium. I could feel her pressing down on exactly the area that's been bothering me. When I left she said, 'good luck with everything.' Why'd she have to say that? Of course, now my throat is bothering me from all the pressing. I'm going to try not to be too worried.
Emily and I are going to do some shopping now. We're looking for a Homecoming dress. Wish me luck with that one. We'll leave for the relative's later this afternoon.
Chilly start

A chilly morning with a light frost in the shade in a few places.
Walking in town at 6:25 and 38 degrees.
A bit foggy at first and then sunny.

Ack, why don't these lab people think before they make little statements like that. I'm sure she meant it nicely but people's brains automatically start to wonder why they need luck!
Welcome to the vegetarian world. I keep hoping we can go back to it because a vegan kid is even more work! Soy is our freind...
don't let it bug you, she probably didn't even think about it...an auto-response, i do it all the time.
have a great visit with your family!
Pay not attention to the lab technician. It is a canned response. I bet she says it to everyone.
Later sometime, a doctor will read the results. That is when you'll know what the tests showed. Not before.
Have a great rest of the week.

Well, I am glad the sonogram is over with. When do you hear back on the results?
Hope it's okay, but I have some questions for Emily.
1. What are your favorite subjects in school this year?
2. Who is your favorite/least favorite teacher and why?
3. If you could change the school year any way you wanted, how would you do it?
4. What is your favorite cereal?
5. How much driving have you been able to do?
Answer them if you like, or not. Just thought we could peek inside the mind of a teenager living in this time and place. Wondering if things have changed much since your mom and I were in high school. :)
Take care Cheryl...i hope you get the results back soon so you aren't worrying and i hope your throat feels better soon.
Those techs always piss me off: they tell you they can't tell you anything regarding what they "read" off the tests, but then they say things like, "Good luck,..." pisses me off.
Try this one: My third child. Having our normal ultrasound at 18weeks after the drama of the potential "spontaneous abortion" as the Ultrasound tech told me (which she shouldn't have and I freaked out)
so, the normal ultrasound after the pregnancy was deemed viable..she asks:
Do you want to know what it is?
no..I tell her..
So, she tells me that she's heading over to the area where gender is seen, and then she asks if I have any children and if I have a preference as to this child:
"Yes, I have two boys already, so for me, I'd like a healthy baby girl..." I tell her.
She just smiles and says nothing except when I was done, and heading out the door, she says to me, "Good luck and enjoy your two sons while you can before your third is born...
WHAT??????
ALways,
Crusty~
Good luck by the way shopping for that homecoming dress..
ahhhhhh, homecoming...seems like such a long time ago...
Sigh...
Em, I'm crashing your homecoming!! :)
Always,
Crusty~ :)
I think we should order a laryngoscopy for you. That's way cool.
I hope the results will come out okay. Gosh it seems like the testing itself can make u sick. Should not she be doing it more gentlely ?
I assure u I will be throwing up if sth like tht is done to my throat.
I congratulate u for going through it without the valium:)
